Mic Conway joined up with Damon Davies for a show at Tathra Hotel where we filmed this 'soundcheck session'. A few days later Mic was a guest on Spicks and Specks and closed the show with 'Jug Band Man'. The Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band, established by Mic and his brother Jim Conway, have been getting back together again recently. As well as performing and recording with Robbie Long, shows with Captain Matchbox and the National Junk Band, Mic tours a show to schools, providing children with life long memories of a rare and genuine showman.

Jim Conway's dream band 'Big Wheel' rolled into Tathra Hotel for this premiere recording of a new song, 'Just So'. The song features the latest addition to the band, Jess Green on guitar and vocals. After an ARIA nomination for their first CD, 'Little Story', the band is touring their new one, 'Share This Life'. Jim Conway was previously with The Backsliders, and in the 1970s he and his brother Mic were integral to the famous Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band, which has recently reformed. Jim Conway regards The Big Wheel as his dream band. This gig at Tathra Hotel was a dream gig. Click the links below to watch the four songs filmed in this 'soundcheck session' before the gig.
